5 Q&As At the Beijing Auto Show 2024

The 2024 Beijing Auto Show, themed "New Era, New Cars" has drawn the spotlight of car enthusiasts worldwide with 117 global premieres, 278 new energy vehicle models, and numerous live streams hosted by industry leaders. Component manufacturers and tech companies showcased countless innovations, marking an era of rapid automotive advancement.

In the midst of this excitement, Ambilight made a striking debut with the world's first high-magnification black electrochromic (EC) smart product seamlessly integrated into a vehicle. This innovation highlights Ambilight's commitment to pushing the boundaries of EC technology, offering an enhanced, customizable in-cabin lighting experience for the future of automotive design.

In response to the curiosity and questions surrounding Ambilight's EC technology, we've compiled and addressed them below:

Question 1: Which car models feature EC Smart Sunroof?

Ambilight's EC smart technology is already featured in the following models:
2024 NIO ET7, NIO EC7, NIO ET5T, NIO EC6, BYD Song L, BYD Seal, AVATR 12, Neta S, 2021 Zeekr 001, AION Plus. More models are currently in development.

Question 2: How effective is the heat insulation and sunshade effect of the EC smart sunroof?

The total solar heat blocking rate of the EC sunroof includes blocking visible light, infrared rays, UV and secondary radiation (1-TTS). For instance, the black EC smart sunroof in the NIO models reaches 86.3% in the bright state and 87.8% in the dark state. This means only 12.2% of heat enters the car in the darkest state, and the UV blocking rate can reach up to 99.99%.

Question 3: Can I retrofit an EC smart sunroof in my current car?

Ambilight is actively developing retrofit options, with plans to offer aftermarket installation for certain brand models starting in the future.

Question 4: How many states does the EC smart product have, and how is it adjusted?

Ambilight's EC offers continuous color transitions based on material performance, with adjustment levels set according to the automaker's requirements. There are multiple ways to control the dimming: environment-based smart adjustment, screen control, and voice control.

Question 5: What does "whole-vehicle dimming" mean?

The "whole vehicle dimming" refers to the integration of EC dimming functionality across all vehicle glass — including the panoramic sunroof, front and rear side windows, and front and rear windshields. This enables not just light and heat regulation, transforming the car into a "mobile living space."

Lastly, we'd like to express our heartfelt thanks to all users for their continued support and love for Ambilight. We look forward to meeting you again soon!
