The 2024 ET7 sedan is equipped with two smart partitioned sunroofs.
Keyword 1: EC Smart Sunroof
The EC smart sunroof not only reduces brightness when exposed to harsh sunlight, protecting the eyes, but also enhances light levels in overcast environments, making the interior brighter. With a 13-layer patented structural design, it supports intelligent sensing or active adjustment of light transmission. It blocks 99.9% of ultraviolet rays and 87.8% (in dark state) to 86.3% (in bright state) of heat. The sunroof integrates Ambilight's EC smart film, featuring a nanometer-level coating, proprietary material system, and electrically controlled flexible electrodes. The overall product thickness is only 0.4mm.
Keyword 2: Partitioned + Multi-level Adjustable
Front and rear passengers can independently manage the dimming, with an option for automatic adjustment as well. Each cabin area offers four levels of brightness adjustment, providing a range of lighting options for customized control. This flexibility allows passengers to easily adjust brightness to suit their personal preferences, catering to the distinct needs of both the front and rear cabins and enhancing overall comfort.
Keyword 3: FOTA Upgrade
Ambilight has launched version upgrades for its self-developed control software. Owners of the NIO EC6, EC7, and ET5T models can now seamlessly upgrade their sunroof via FOTA, enhancing the dimming capability from 2 levels to 4. This improvement makes the system more intelligent and comfortable, allowing for a more refined and customizable driving experience.
On April 27th, Ambilight participated in NIO's ET7 event, attracting numerous users to learn about and experience cutting-edge EC technology. The Ambilight team not only explained the technical principles and iterations of EC smart dimming technology to users on-site but also conducted fun experiments to give them a real experience. After one minute of infrared heating, the Ambilight EC smart film reduced the temperature by 6.6°C compared to white glass with a 3M sunscreen film, and by 12.8°C compared to regular white glass.
From the EC7, which was the first in the world to feature black EC sunroof glass, to the smarter "black EC partitioned sunroof" in the ET7, Ambilight, as the only technology company globally capable of mass-producing black EC smart film, expresses its gratitude to NIO for their trust and partnership along the way.
